5 Myths About Male Strippers
1. STRIPPING IS EASY
Have you ever heard someone say, “Stripping is so easy, all you have to do is take off your clothes to music!” To that, we always laugh and respond with, “Have you ever run on a treadmill for 15 minutes in front of a crowd at least 4 times within 1 night?” Obviously 99% of the time they’ll say no. We’re here to tell you it’s not easy and the guys work super hard all week to give you the best performance ever for your special night. This often includes gym EVERY day, eating well, maintaining costumes and sometimes revisiting the choreographer for new routines. Most routines are 15 – 20 minutes long! Have you ever put your heart and soul into the Nutbush and then went straight into the Cha Cha Slide? Yeah, them feels right? Now imagine that 3 times over and you’ve just entered into the stripper workout for only 1 performance. Next time you see our Magic Men up on stage, give them an extra cheer or scream to encourage them on! Don’t get us wrong though, the guys still have fun and go out for a cheeky drink or 10, but “just one” for Channing.
2. MALE STRIPPERS ARE SELF-ABSORBED
Some of the nicest guys you meet could be strippers! Magic Men are always happy to have a drink and talk about the show with guests at our after-party. Without you, there would be no us! Although we won’t deny our Magic Men love a selfie or two and enjoy spending time in front of a mirror.
3. YOU HAVE TO TIP $$ TO GET A DANCE
We’ve all seen that part of the movie when Magic Men is coming off stage in the strip clubs with $1 notes stuck down his G-string and we are still left wondering what he does for those $20 notes because honestly, we don’t know! At Magic Men, you aren’t required to tip our strippers or topless waiters, so no, our guys aren’t wheeling around a suitcase full of money – their suitcases are full of singlets for ripping and spare underwear (yes they go missing). At any show, the special guest within your group will be invited up on stage with one of the Magic Men during his performance.
4. STRIPPERS AREN’T SMART
This is a bit of a cliché, but we still hear that some people like to generalise strippers as unintelligent. Did you know that many of the Magic Men have degrees and jobs in areas of Medicine, law and business? Yes, that’s right, they’re good looking and have brains! Beside jobs though, these guys are getting paid to show off their moves, spend time with women during some of the most exciting times of their lives and hang out with their mates on a Saturday night after the show. Having fun at and making money, if that’s not smart, please tell us what is!
5. STRIPPING IS A FULL-TIME JOB
As much as we would like it to be, stripping is not a full-time gig and so many of the Magic Men have day jobs. A lot of them make it work to their advantage and are Personal Trainers, meaning they can spend that extra time in the gym to prep for the show, while other Magic Men keep their careers separate to the stage – either way, all our Magic Men love what they do and we have great ideas for hens parties.
